RACE RULES
Please read below the race rules which must be followed at all times:
Runners must stick to the prescribed route. If you leave the route then immediately notify the race organisers (if lost) and run back to the prescribed route
The baton represents the teams position in the race
Do not start running your leg until you receive the baton
Do not finish until you have passed the baton on
If race rules are broke - organising committee has right to withdraw you from the race
Group running rules:
Each leg will have a estimated pace/km based on the information runners provided.
Runners must run together for 15km. ie if you have joined a group of slower runners you are unable to run ahead with the baton. However if one runner is running a lot slower than stated when signed up the group can run ahead.
After 15km runners can separate to run as fast as they can if they wish.
The front runner will pass the baton on.
RACE RULES - SAFETY
By partaking in this challenge you are aware of the risks of running on roads and trails as set out in the Terms and Conditions. For your safety the following rules and guidance must be followed at all times when running:
No headphones are permitted whilst running
Must have sufficient mobile phone charge when starting run to last full distance and share race location with organisers via Racemap
Night time running must wear full allocated night gear
You agree to use self awareness and judgement whilst running and it is your responsibility to assess each situation. If you are ever uncomfortable with running a section then stop at safe place and ring race organiser immediately
Safety is number one priority during the race - this is first in any decision making whilst running
If you get lost or injured you must ring race organiser immediately
If feeling ill, light headed or unwell - you should stop immediately
How to run on roads
1. Run Facing Traffic (Against Traffic) Why? So you can see oncoming vehicles and react if necessary.
2. Always use Sidewalks or Paths When Available. If there’s no sidewalk, run on the road shoulder, as far from traffic as possible.
3. Be Visible - Wear bright or reflective clothing, especially in low-light conditions.Use headlamps or blinking lights when running at night or early morning.
4. Stay Alert - No headphones to hear approaching vehicles or hazards. Stay aware of driveways, intersections, and turning vehicles.
5. Follow Traffic Laws - Obey pedestrian signals, road signs, and local regulations.Yield to vehicles where required and cross only at designated crossings when possible.
6. Run Single File in Dangerous Areas - If running with others and there's no sidewalk, run in single file to reduce road obstruction and risk.
